Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026. This policy covers capturetheconversation.com and the 90-Day Category Authority Engine engagement, both operated by Capture the Conversation LLC ("we", "us"), Longmont, Colorado, United States.
What we collect
On this website. This is a marketing site with no accounts, no login, and no forms. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising pixels. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views: it is cookieless, stores no identifier on your device, does not follow you across sites, and the script is served from this domain rather than a third party. It records the page visited, referrer, and coarse signals such as country, device type, browser, and operating system. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and user agent as part of that request. Our host keeps standard server logs including IP address, user agent, and requested path for operational and security purposes.
When you book a call. Scheduling runs through OneCal, which collects the name, email address, and any notes you enter when booking.
When you email or apply. If you send your offer and LinkedIn profile to apply for a founder spot, we receive whatever you put in that email. We use it to produce the Loom walkthrough you asked for and to decide fit.
During the engagement. To build your Category Authority Engine we collect what you send us and what you and your customers say: your website and public profiles, prior positioning or brand documents, proposals and sales emails you choose to share, the customers you introduce us to, and the recordings and transcripts of the founder and customer interviews.
How we use it
We use this information to deliver the engagement you paid for, to build your category positioning, content system, and AI brain, to invoice you, and to answer your email. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Customer interviews
Your customers are interviewed with their consent and told what the recording is for. A customer may decline to be recorded, ask for a passage to be struck, or ask to be removed entirely, at any time, by emailing james@capturetheconversation.com. Nothing a customer says is published with their name attached without their written permission.
Sub-processors
Vercel (hosting and cookieless web analytics), Google Fonts (font delivery), Google Workspace (email and documents), OneCal (scheduling), Fathom (meeting recording and transcription), and the AI model providers used to run our interview, drafting, and AI-brain systems. Interview content processed by model providers is sent under agreements that prohibit training on that content.
Your material stays yours
Your interview transcripts, your category positioning, your content library, and the AI brain built for you belong to you. We do not publish client work, name clients, or reuse client language in another client's deliverable without written permission.
Retention
Engagement materials are retained while you are a client and for two years afterward so we can re-issue your positioning and reload your AI brain on request. Financial records are retained for seven years to meet US tax and accounting requirements. Ask us to delete engagement materials sooner and we will, except where the law requires we keep the financial record.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email james@capturetheconversation.com and we will respond within thirty days. California residents may exercise CCPA rights through the same address; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. UK and EU residents may exercise UK GDPR and GDPR rights through the same address.
Children
This site and this service are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
Material changes to this policy are reflected in the "last updated" date above and in the page's lastmod entry in sitemap.xml.
